Henk Campher
Henk Campher, Vice President of Corporate Responsibility (CR), has more than 15 years global experience in corporate responsibility strategy, communication and brand development. Specific expertise includes: CR strategy review and design; issue management; leadership positioning; CR communication assessment and development; brand positioning and design; stakeholder mapping and engagement strategies and facilitation; and integrating CR strategies and communications with brand development and identity. Henk has been involved in CR work with Cone clients including Pfizer, The Home Depot, Nestle, Sodexho, Starbucks and eBay.
Henk is South African and has worked with all major industries and with leading multinational companies – including Unilever, Anglo American, Kraft, Shell, Microsoft, SABMiller, Marks and Spencer, Levi Strauss and Standard Chartered. Henk’s work has focused on many regions across the globe – including Eastern and Western Europe, Russia, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the US.
Prior to Cone, Henk spent two years as Director of Corporate Policy and Practices at the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) in London. Henk also acted as Special Adviser to Prime Minister Blair’s Commission for Africa on the role of business in African development and was a founding member of Business Action for Africa.
Prior to joining the IBLF, Henk was a Policy Adviser on the Private Sector at Oxfam based in Oxford Great Britian and, amongst others, led the Oxfam International Coffee Campaign. Before joining Oxfam he worked across Africa and Europe with OneWorld International. Additionally Henk was the Convenor of the Trade & Industry Chamber at the National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) in South Africa where he helped establish and lead Nelson Mandela’s Proudly South African Campaign and was a member of the South African WTO and EU-SA trade negotiating team.
Henk has also authored a number of articles and papers, including "Disaster Management and Planning: An IBLF Framework for Business Response" and "10 Practical Actions to Support Africa's Development." Henk has contributed to numerous publications, including "Ethical Sourcing in the Global Food System" edited by Stephanie Barrientor and Catherine Dolan, and "Corporate Social Opportunity - Seven Steps to Make Corporate Social Responsibility Work for your Business" by David Grayson and Adrian Hodges.
